Sermon Notes 10/1 – Ephesians 4:1-6

The outline of Ephesians:
-Chapters 1-3 – SIT
-Chapters 4-5 WALK
Chapter 6 – STAND
-Sitting is our salvation and position in Christ
-Walking is living for Jesus
SIT – THE POWER OF I AM
-I AM victorious, forgiven, justified, righteous and holy….
WALK – used 6 times in Ephesians 4 & 5
WALK – means to walk around/to order ones behavior/to live for Jesus Christ
Ephesians 4:1 – The prisoner of the Lord
-Paul was under house arrest for 2 years
                   2 POINTS:
Point #1 – THE ENEMY WANTS TO CANCEL EVERY CHRISTIAN VOICE
– No one can cancel the Holy Spirit
-When the enemy is fighting us real hard, remember the Lord is up to something-
-Paul was a Voice for the Lord
-Paul understood that preaching does not follow ordination.  It follows salvation
-We need to be like Jesus and preach – Matthew 4:23-25
-Every believer is a Preacher
-The future of Americas rests on preachers
-Remember – if the devil cannot make us really bad.  He will make us really busy…
POINT #2 – YOU CAN GO THROUGH HARD TIMES AND STILL BE IN THE WILL OF GOD
-Paul speak to the church in Ephesus while in jail and says:
Beseech – means to plead…beg…implore…invite…urge
WALK IN UNITY…….
Unity is agreement…to be unanimous…one
Our unity is in Jesus and fulfilling the great commission
Walk Worthy – means to weigh as much as something else
-our walk needs to equal our talk
calling – is our salvation & position in Jesus Christ
                   ***The Lord called us to be saved – Jesus chose us…
         How can we keep unity?
1. We have to work at keeping unity – vs2-3
-this is developing & growing our Christian character by spending daily time with Jesus
-pray against a spirit of division
2. Have a spirit of forbearance – v2
-this refers to taking a stand against disunity and declaring our loyalty
-stand against all disunity and division from anyone
