Sermon Notes 1/30 – Mark 2

MARK 2:1-12

4 MEN, THE PARALYTIC AND AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS
ENCOUNTER – Means to have a divine encounter and to meet with someone
—–To have an Encounter, we need Jesus and His Presence, the Word of God and Faith
(1.) WE NEED TO SURROUND OURSELVES WITH BELIEVERS WHO ARE FAITH PEOPLE – Mark 2:5
-faith people believe the Lord for anything
-faith people never quit believing
-we must be around faith people and not be influenced by people who are not faith people…Matthew 9:18-19, 23-26
(1.) WE NEED FAITH PEOPLE AROUND US TO AGREE WITH US – Matthew 18:19-20
(2.) WE NEED FAITH PEOPLE WHO WILL SPEAK LIFE WITH US – Prov 18:21
     ***What is unwavering Faith?
1. Unwavering faith is faith that refuses to be refused – Matthew 7:7-8
-these 4 men were going to get the paralytic to Jesus & nothing would stop them
-Genesis 32:20-24 and Luke 11:5-13
Persist – means not to give up or give in to any situation
Example:  Samuel anointed David to be King when he was 15 years old and did not become King until he was 30 years old
2. Unwavering faith remembers the word remember – Deuteronomy 7:17-19
-Deuteronomy records the word REMEMBER 16 times
-Remember the character of the Lord
-Remember the great works of the Lord
-Remember the Lord never changes
-Remember the Word of God
