Temptation
Temptation – it is influencing and persuading someone to sin
-there all kinds of temptation
-temptations will never end until we get to heaven – Judges 16:16
Two Sources Of Temptation
1. Outside – this is demons
2. Inside – the flesh
-this is the sinful desire that remains in us even after salvation. It pulls on us to go against the Lord and the Word of God continually
WHAT R WE GOING TO DO?
1. Remove all temptations from our mind – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
-THE FLESH GOES FISHING – James 1:13-15
v14 – Every man – every person will be tempted – the fishing line is thrown into the water
REMEMBER: being tempted with wrong thoughts is not sin. It becomes sin when we dwell on it, it then goes into our heart and then we act on it
-drawn away – temptation start to draw us away from the Lord
Enticed – refers to bait – the hook has bait on it
-the bait is different for each person and is attractive
**We must remove all temptations and wrong thoughts from our minds – IMMEDIATELY – How?
1.) WE MUST BELIEVE THAT WE CAN REMOVE ALL EVIL THOUGHTS FROM OUR MINDS
***ROMANS 8:6
-We have all of the spiritual weapons we need to maintain great mental health
-We must make a DECLARATION – NO MORE……..
2.) THESE THINGS – Philippians 4:8-9
***Watch what we think on
a. Think about what you are thinking about
b. Think on these things
-True…Honest…Just…Pure..
3.) COMPLETE THE PROCESS – Philippians 2:12-13
-Having victory over the flesh and wrong thoughts is work, discipline & daily time
-being full of the Lord and the Holy Spirit & His presence every day is the only way to defeat the flesh and remove temptation from our minds
-Work – means to complete the process – bring heaven down to earth every day to stay full of the Holy Spirit and walk in victory over the flesh
