Sermon 1/5 – The Last Days
(1.) THE LAST DAYS FOCUS IS ON THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST
—Isaiah 2:1-4/Micah 4:1-3/Acts 2:17-21 – the last days
ISAIAH 2:1-4
v1 – Isaiah sees a vision of the future
vs2-3 – the millennial kingdom when Jesus rules
-Jerusalem will be the seat of power in the universe
v4 – Universal peace will rule
-no more war
v5 – live in the light of the Lord today
(2.) THE LAST DAYS STARTED @ THE CROSS & RESURRECTION OF JESUS – Acts 1:9-11
-the last days will continue until Jesus returns
-2 Tim 3:1-8 – what the last days will be like
-difficult/terrible/savage/
-will come – means to be set in stone and will not move
***What is the body of Christ to do? PRAY – 2 Points to Look At
POINT#1 – Let’s look at the words of Jesus – Mark 11:17 & Isaiah 56:7 – My house will be a house of prayer….
POINT#2 – Let’s look at the words of the disciples – Luke 11:1
PRAYER POINTS
1. DIE WELL
Matt 16:24…Col 3:1-4…Luke 22:42…John 6:38
-we cannot do what we want to do any longer. We must totally practice God’s will which means we must pray
-A SHIFT MUST OCCUR – from doing our will to doing His will
2. LIMITS – Psalm 115:3 & 135:6
-the Lord gave man authority while he lives on earth
-the Lord has limited Himself to our prayers – we pray the Lord moves and if we do not pray, the lord does not move
-Sovereignty – the Lord is Sovereign which means He does as He pleases
*The Lord can do anything, but He has chosen to work through people
3. MODEL – Acts 1:114
-we have a model-pattern to follow and it is found in the book of Acts & the early church – the model is to pray
-the Lord is waiting on the church to pray and then things will begin to change and happen on earth
