Psalm 23

v1 – The Lord is My Shepherd – Jehovah Rohi – speaks of being a personal God

-I shall not want things, stuff, money, position or the things of the world

I SHALL NOT WANT  ——- Refers to Two Things:

              1. Refers to the Lord taking away our want…I only want Jesus

              2. Refers to Provision – Genesis 22:13-14

Jehovah Jireh – The Lord our Provider

Jehovah Jireh provides finances, jobs, joy, peace, healing and everything

                  PROVISION IS BASED ON SEVERAL THINGS

                                   (These all work together)

1. Provision is based on prayer – Psalm 3:4 & 138:3

*Prayer Works

*Pray provision in

*Be excited people are praying for provision because it will affect you personally

2. Provision is based on Praise – 2 Corinthians 5:7

-we praise the Lord when we receive provision

-we praise the Lord before we receive our provision

3. Provision is based on Priority – Matthew 6:33

-Make Jesus #1, spend time with Him daily/live for Jesus

-when we do these things, the Lord provides

4. Provision is based on planting – Gal 6:7 & Phil 4:15-16, 19; Lk 6:38

          a. become a tither and a giver – gracious giving

          b. remember the principle of sowing

-you reap what you sow

-you reap later than you sow

-you reap more than you sow

5. Provision is based on Practicality – 2 Thess 3:6-10

-work…handle your money properly…give

verse 3 – REST – He makes me lie down beside still waters…..

How do we rest?

1. REST IS BASED ON RELATIONSHIP

-Jehovah Rohi is a personal God

-let Jehovah Rohi control everything…rest in Him…trust Him…release everything to Him…Receive peace…

2. REST IS BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD

-the Lord leads us and does not force us to do anything

-this is a choice

-the result is peace – still or quiet waters

-the Lord is not leading us to do anything sinful or eveil….

-the Lord leads us to His promises which He will fulfill.
