Philippians 1:27-30
v27 – STAND FAST – means to hold your ground/continue to be firm
-it is a military term and holding ones ground and moving forward
(1.) STAND FAST IN GOOD CONDUCT – v27
Only – means just one thing
-this is an admonition of someone holding up their finger
-we need to live for Jesus Christ in these last days
-good conduct matters because it affects alot of people
          HOW TO DEVELOP STRONG CHRISTIAN CONDUCT…….
1. Separate from people with bad conduct – 1 Cor 5:11
2. Read the Word of God every day – Col 3:8-14
3. Spend time with Jesus every day – John 15 (abiding)
4. Flow with the convicting voice of the Holy Spirit
5. Know Jesus is present with you
(2.) STAND FAST AGAINST YOUR ADVERSARIES – v28
adversaries – means anything that is entrenched in its opposition against Christianity
            a. division is an adversary – v27 – “have one spirit & one mind”
            b. False doctrine is an adversary – “for the faith of the gospel”
v28 terrified – means to be scared…frightened…alarmed...troubled…torn apart mentally…panic stricken
-when we are not scared by our adversaries it reveals that we have a power in us that is greater than our adversary.
-it is a sign to our adversary of loss – they will lose eternal life & a life of peace
         *******The Adversary of Fear*******
How to defeat Fear……
1. Recognize it is real and exists
-you can feel it and it is tied into worry and panic and anxiety
2. Realize it is demonic – 2 Tim 1:7
-it is a demonic spirit
3. Understand it is a sign of the last days – Luke 21:25-28
-there will be an increase of fear in the last days
4. Speak to fear – Mark 11:22-23
-don’t just pray about it, speak to fear
-Declare your reminders – remind the enemy he is defeated and who you are in Christ and that no fear can defeat you or cause you to retreat
