More than a Conqueror

More than a Conqueror

  1. Introduction

    1. The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the believers in Rome

    2. Webster’s definition of love: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties

    3. God’s Definition of love: 8:31-32 If God is for us who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things

  1. Through the LOVE of God, you are More Than Conquerors

    1. Romans 8:37-39 Yet in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through Him who LOVED us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in ALL CREATION, will be able to separate us from the LOVE of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

    2. More than conquerors = HYPER NIKE = Super Conquers.  We have won the supreme victory through His LOVE

    2. The Father’s love for us is unconditional

    3. The Father’s love for us is based upon Grace

    4. The Father’s love for us will never change

    2. Who shall separate us? = a challenge “enemies do your worst”

    3. Separate = the same word used in Matthew 19:6 concerning marriage (NIV) “What God has joined together let no man separate” (KJV) “Let not man put asunder” We are in a covenant/ marriage like relationship with God.  It is an unbreakable bond

    4. John 15:20 Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me they will also persecute you

    5. We need to have a correct perspective concerning this life

    6. 5:3-4 And not only this but we also exult in our tribulations knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance and perseverance proven character and proven character hope

  1. Through Christ, we have conquered

    1. 6:6 Knowing this that our old self was crucified with Him that our body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves to sin for he who has died is freed from sin

    2. Sin will not separate us from the love of God

    3. The Flesh will not separate us from the love of God
