Matthew 24 & 25

The end time scriptures in Matthew 24 reveal the uncertainty of the times we are living in……..

                   How do we get through UNCERTAIN Times?

1. WE GET THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES BY CLINGING TO THE ONLY THING THAT IS CERTAIN – Luke 1:1-4 (v4) and Matthew 7:24-28

-the only certain thing in this life is Jesus – He is the ROCK….

-we need to have proper priorities since Jesus and His Word are the only certainties

2. WE WILL GET THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES BY HAVING TOUGH FAITH  – 2 Timothy 3:1-8…2 Cor 11:23-28…Phil 3:10….Acts 14:22

***TOUGH FAITH WILL GET YOU THROUGH TOUGH TIMES***

Luke 18:8 – will the Lord find faith on earth when He returns?

***TOUGH FAITH IS DEVELOPED AND CONTINUED***

Habakkuk 1:12-17 – the prophet wanted Israel spanked for their sin.  The Lord said he would use the Babylonians to discipline Israel…The Lord was silent…

Hab 2:1 – the prophet got mad and climbed to the top of a tower and puted and would stay there until he received an answer

Hab 4:2b – the answer from the lord comes and the just will live by faith

Hab 3:1-2 – I surrender to you and trust you in everything

-the prophet was captured by the Babylonians and imprisoned for years

***TOUGH FAITH IS TRUSTING THE LORD WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING***

3. WE WILL GET THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES WHEN WE KEEP AN ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE – Psalm 73

-what is the only thing that is really going to matter in the years to come???

      ***UNCERTAIN TIMES CAUSE PEOPLE TO TURN TO JESUS***

-Focus in on the Great Commission….

Psalm 73 was written by Asaph, David’s worship leader who lost sight of eternal matters…..He got his eyes on the wicked and how they prosper…

vs1-2 – Asaph almost lost his faith because of this issue

vs3-5, 7 – many wicked have it easy and are living well & are healthy

vs8-9 – they are against the Lord

vs13-14 – Asaph comes against the love & faithfulness of God –

The wicked doing well is unfair while I have issues and problems and don’t have much…….

vs17-18 – something changes when he goes to the house of the Lord.  His entire perspective is turned around…he saw the outcome of the wicked…

v28 – he places his trust in the Lord & got back his eternal perspective

4. REMEMBER THE WORD REMEMBER – Deut 7:17-19

-the book of Deuteronomy records 16 times the word REMEMBER.  Deuteronomy was written during uncertain times……..

3 Things To Remember:

1. Remember the Word of God

Deut 5:15…..7:17-19…..8:2-3, 18-19

2. Remember the Lord never changes – Mal 3:6…Heb 13:8

3. Remember what the Lord has personally done for you

By declaring these things continually, you will go from uncertainty to a place of certainty…
