Matthew 24 & 25

Matthew 24-25

Discouragement – means to be disheartened & demoralized; to lose enthusiasm & confidence
-we are going to be COURAGEOUS…….
HOW CAN WE BECOME AND REMAIN COURAGEOUS?
(1.) DO NOT PANIC – Joshua 1:1-9
-3 times Joshua says to be strong and courageous
-Joshua had many reason to be fearful & have panic attacks
***TO GIVE IN TO FEAR IS TO ASSUME THAT THE LORD IS POWERLESS
-the Lord is Almighty and all powerful
***TO GIVE IN TO FEAR IS TO ASSUME THAT THE BELIEVER IS POWERLESS
-We need to speak the Lord’s language and not the devil’s language
-We need to speak what the Lord says about us and know who we are in Christ
(2.) WE CAN BECOME AND REMAIN COURAGEOUS BY GUARDING WHATS GOING ON BETWEEN THE EARS – Phil 4:8-9
-this has to do with our thinking
                 Several Points To Consider
(1.) WRONG THOUGHTS WILL ENTER OUR MINDS – Eph 6:10-18
-fiery darts from the wicked one
-we cannot stop wrong thoughts from entering into our minds
-no matter how long we have been saved & how close we are to the Lord
(2.) Interrupt Wrong Thoughts
-stop the enemy from speaking
(3.) Replace Wrong Thoughts
-with praise, prayer and the Word of God
-keep doing this until you enter into heaven
(3.) WE CAN BECOME AND REMAIN COURAGEOUS BY REDISCOVERING OUR BIBLES – 2 Chronicles 34
-we can make it through anything because of the Word of God
-Memorize the Word of God
-2 Chronicles 34:1-7, 14-21, 29-33 – King Josiah
*Manasseh was Josiah’s dad and he reigned Israel for 57 years
*Manasseh led Israel away from the Lord and was a wicked ruler
*Amnon – Josiahs’ dad was more wicked than his father who was Manasseh
Jedidah – this was Josiah’s mom, the queen, and she raised him up in the ways of the Lord – 2 Kings 22:1-2…….
*Josiah went after the Lord at 16 years old (2 Chr 34:3),  got rid of all idolatry & repaired and cleaned up the temple
*vs29-33 – the Bible was rediscovered, read & practiced – and a pledge was made to follow it……..which will deliver us from all fear, anxiety & depression & panic
