Mark 8:31-33

Mark 8:31-33

– Peter rebukes Jesus – means to disapprove…to reprimand
– Jesus was fighting against Satan and not Peter
-Jesus rebukes Peter – P{eter was trying to stop the plan of the Father  which was for Jesus to go to the cross…
WAYS TO KEEP SATAN UNDER YOUR FEET
1. KNOW THAT SATAN IS UNDER YOUR DEFEAT  – Colossians 2:13-15
-satan was defeated at the cross
Col 2:13-15 – the conquering general placed his foot on the neck of the defeated general in public view
-satans teeth were removed at the cross – 1 Peter 5:8-9 – he can only roar
-the enemy can still tempt us – means to solicit one to do evil
     REMEMBER 3 things:
1. we can never be tempted with more than we can handle – 1 Corinthians 10:13
2. the power of temptation coming against us is  not greater than the presence of the Holy Spirit within us
3. Prayer keeps us from entering into temptation – Matthew 26:41
watch – means to have the alertness of a guard at night
(2) We keep the enemy under our feet by getting our mouth aligned with the Word of God – Proverbs 18:21
-the words we repeat that the enemy speaks to us in our minds
-your words which are Gods’s words can keep the devil under our feet
***HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD***
Ez 1:3…Ez 18:1…Ez 20:2…Ez 33:23 – the Word of the Lord comes to us first
Ez 37:1-4 (v4) – Declare the Word of the Lord
***the temptation of Jesus – Matthew 4:1-10 – Hear the Word of the Lord
(3) Understand your who and your do – Ephesians 1:3-4, 7
The Who?  this is who you are in Christ
The Do – this is what we do  – behavior, actions and works
*all spiritual blessings are received immediately at salvation
*we do not always do what is right – Romans 7:15
*our not doing right does not change who we are in Christ
-the enemy accuses us day and night whenever we do something wrong – Rev 12:9-11
How do we defeat the accusations of the devil and demons?
1, by the blood of Jesus Christ – we received the authority of Jesus Christ at salvation
2. by our testimony – remind the enemy of what you did right – saved and forgiven
(4) Submit to God – James 4:7
***this is personal obedience to the Lord
What is personal obedience?
1. Obeying the Word of God
2. Obeying the Voice of God for your own persona life
-before salvation – we were disobedient  – Eph 2:1-3
-after salvation – we are obedient children of God – 1 Peter 1:14
(5) Spend time with God – James 4:8
-we are not too busy to spend time with God and attend church…
