John 1:19-51

verses 29-34 – THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST TO JOHN THE BAPTIST

         2 POINTS – “revealed to Israel” – v31

1. John bore witness of the revealing of Jesus

a. a witness shares what they know – they are not silent

b. balance – walk it and talk it

2. Revealed – means to take the lid off

                     4 THINGS WERE REVEALED ABOUT JESUS

1. IT WAS REVEALED THAT ONLY JESUS WOULD BE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD – vs29-30

-Jesus is the Lamb of God – represents the sacrifice for our sins

-Jn 14:6…Acts 4:12

-this is HE – v30

preferred before me – ranks higher than me

He was before me – He has always been

2. IT WAS REVEALED THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD – v34

-the Son of God means Jesus Christ is God

4 Sonships

Son of Abraham – Jesus is Jewish

Son of David – Jesus is King

Son of man – represents the humanity of Jesus

Son of God – represents Jesus being God

3. IT WAS REVEALED THAT JESUS IS ANOINTED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT – Acts 10:38

-the anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit

-the anointing is for service – Luke 4:16-21

4. IT WAS REVEALED THAT JESUS BAPTIZES IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – Matthew 3:11

1. THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FROM JESUS AND DOES NOT SAVE YOU – Acts 2:21

2. HE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN GET SIDETRACKED AND PUSHED TO THE SIDE – 1 Corinthians 14:39-40

-it is needed for today for everyone to produce life, greater prayer and more dedication

vs35-37 – Behold the Lamb of God

Behold – Look…See…Attention

Lamb – is a pet Lamb that is kind, gentle and loving

v37 FOLLOW JESUS

follow – means to be on the same road that Jesus is on

-do not follow a pastor or church

-attend a local church to get to know leaders and people

-REMEMBER: The anointing of the Holy Spirit on a person is not an indication of a person’s character…….

vs38-39 – follow jesus but why are we following Him?

-we design our own Jesus & why we should follow Him

vs40-42 – Andrew is saved

-Andrew introduces Peter his brother to Jesus to be saved

The Messiah – the chosen one and anointed one

Peter means stone – Petro   Jesus is our Rock – Petra – a large rock

-Matthew 16:13-18

vs43-51 – POWER EVANGELISM – Luke 9:1-2,6

-the scriptures on nathaniel who gets saved

-Word of Knowledge operates here

-Nathaniel is surprised because Jesus knew so much about him

v50  – Jesus is not rebuking nathaniel here, but let’s him know that this is just the beginning of what he will see

v51 – you will see angels being involved in the supernatural work of the Lord as Jacob saw in Genesis 28:10-22.  This will prove that jesus is the One true and living God…….

v43 – Jesus witnessed and He is our example to follow
