Habakkuk

v13 – The Lord has pure eyes
-the Lord cannot look on wickedness or evil
HOW CAN WE DEVELOP AND KEEP PURE EYES?
1. ABSOLUTELY KNOW THAT YOU CAN LIVE A LIFE OF PURITY – 2 Timothy 2:19-22
-it is possible to live for Jesus
-we have the gospel and all of the spiritual tools Christianity offers
-DECLARE THIS DAILY – we can live for Jesus…
2. WE CAN DEVELOP PURE EYES BY PURSUING AND RUNNING  – 2 Timothy 2:19-22
Purdue – means to passionately go after something
-pursue spending time with Jesus
RUN – flee youthful lusts – means to run away and shun…escape
lusts – are huge cravings and desires for something evil…uncontrolled fleshly desires
Example:  Genesis 39:1-20 – Joseph
3. WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO TO KEEP PURE EYES?
a. only view pure things
-what you look at feeds your mind – guard your mind
-pull down every evil thought
b. only be in pure places
c. only be wirth pure people – 2 Timothy 2:19-22
-v21 – cleanse yourself from these
-v22 – pursue righteousness with those – these are godly people
***Communion vs Connection
-commune with believers
-connect with unbelievers
If we do sin, remember 1 John 1:9………
                                          CHAPTER TWO
verse 1 – this speaks of prayer & Habakkuk waiting patiently for an answer
Watchmen LOOK:
-look up to the Lord with a spirit of expectation
-Look out over a city, church and nation and see Now and into the future
-Look In – to make sure they stay right with the Lord so their prayers will be answered
Watchmen STAND:
-on what the Lord has told them
-on the Word of God and won;t let go
-on what is prayed for without seeing the answer manifested
Watchmen WORK:
-prayer is work…a battle…spiritual warfare
-we meet God, but also meet the enemy
-they are patient
-correction is a part of our prayer life
-receiving correction shows us what we are really like…..
-the Lord answers prayer
vs2-3 – VISION
1. Write the vision down
-record what the Lord has said to you
2. Run in the vision
-find out what the Lord says and then run with it – with the wind of the Spirit
-do not deviate from the vision
3. It is for an appointed time
-this refers for the time Habbakuk lived and for the last days when we are living now
-this refers to the return of Jesus Christ
4. CCWC has a vision
-we are a mission with a movement
-we are a charismatic church
-we believe and practice all of the Word of God
-we want the Holy Spirit to move
-we are outreach oriented
-we are Jesus people
-we cry out to the Lord in prayer
-pursue righteousness – right conduct and actions that please Jesus
