Elijah
ELIJAH was AVAILABLE…….1 Kings 17:1
-from Solomon to Elijah was 100 years of time and Israel fell away from the Lord
-the Lord raised up Elijah
-Elijah was available
-Nothing is really known about Elijah…….He just appeared….
-Elijah means My God is Jehovah
-Tishbe means settler & Gilead means rocky and rugged
-Elijah had an encounter with the Lord just as Isaiah had – Isaiah 6:1-8
AVAILABILITY STATEMENTS
(1.) THE ENEMY WANTS TO STOP YOUR AVAILABILITY – 1 Kings 16:29-34
– Ahab and Jezebel represent the devil and demon forces
-every step forward you make in Jesus Christ enrages the devil
(2.) BEING AVAILABLE IS A DECISION – 1 Kings 18:1
-Make a decision today to be available to serve Jesus – do anything for Him
-don’t just consume, but contribute
-decide to value Jesus and His desires more than anything else in the world
(3.) BEING AVAILABLE IS FOR ALL TIMES 1 Kings 18:13
-Elijah made himself available during a national crisis
-the culture at this time was evil, wicked and morally bankrupt
-the only way for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing
(4.) BE AVAILABLE REGARDLESS OF YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES – 1 Kings 19:1-10
-Elijah had issues like all of us do
-Never dwell on your imperfections because you are imperfect
-even with our imperfections, we are still going in the rapture – 2 Kings 2:9-11
