Don’t Give Up

-we are not going to give up regardless of our situation

-we are going to build up our confidence in the Lord so we will not give up

CONFIDENCE – means to be certain…boldness…to be settled…to have full trust in a person…

-it is the picture of concrete being set after it has been poured

Hebrews 10:35 – you can cast away your confidence

-we can throw away our confidence by having self-confidence

-self-confidence is reliance upon self

-we are not to believe in ourselves – we are to believe in the Lord – we need Jesus

-having complete confidence in the Lord eliminates the word – CAN’T…….

                TWO WAYS TO BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE

(1.) OUR CONFIDENCE IS BUILT UP BY KNOWING WHO GOD IS

-the Lord is gracious, good, kind and merciful

-The Lord has the solution for every problem…He can do anything

-we can have confidence the Lord hears and answers all of our prayers

1 John 5:14-15

confidence – means certainty…to be bold…total reliance in the Lord

-our confidence is in Him – Jesus Christ

-we must ask in prayer according to the Lord’s will

know – means to absolutely positively know – that the Lord hears and answers prayer so we will not give up

(2.) OUR CONFIDENCE IS BUILT UP BY EMBRACING WHO THE LORD SAYS WE ARE – Ephesians 1:3

-if we know who we are in Christ, we will not give up

-the enemy pounds os us daily to tear us down

-I am confident that He who started a good work in me will complete it – Philippians 1:6

Confident – means to be settled…bold…have total assurance

He – is Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ is God

    *The word “He” is singular which means jesus is the only one true and living God

Who has begun – Jesus Christ is the source of everything

Begun – this is the act of salvation

-salvation has everything to do with Jesus Christ

-the work in us is a progressive work – the work never ends

We are a good work – Declare it – YOU ARE A GOOD WORK…….

            GOOD WORK

-this refers to 3 things

1. I am a good work – I am something super special in the Lord

2. A good work is being accomplished in me

3. Everything that comes my way is doing good things in me
