Joel 3

verse 1 – Behold – speaks of getting someone’s attention and there is very important information to announce

             —Jesus is coming back soon

             —one of the last day’s events is the Battle of Armageddon

Matthew 24:36 – no one knows when the Lord’s return will happen

***We are headed toward difficult times – 2 Timothy 3:1

-zero in on theology and the Lord’s character

vs1-2 – The Battle of Armageddon – Rev 16:13-16; Rev 9:13-16 & 14:20

1. The Battle of Armageddon is a literal battle – Joel 3:1-2

-Valley of Jehosophat – means Jehovah is Judge

-this is not s story or an allegory

2. Demon forces are involved in the Battle of Armageddon – Dan 10:12-14

-we are fighting against principalities and powers

3. The Battle of Armageddon is a battle between God and humanity – Rev 19:11-21

Joel 3:2 – “I will enter into a time of judgment with the nations.”

4. Armageddon is not the end of the world – Matthew 24:36-44

-this battle happens right before Jesus returns

-Jesus sets up His millennial kingdom – 100 years long

-Matthew 24:36-44

-Israel is restored back to the Lord – Zechariah 12:9-11a and 13:1

     How is Israel Restored Back to Jesus?

                               ***THROUGH FORGIVENESS***

Relationship – this is being born again.  Israel needed forgiveness to be saved

Fellowship – this is our everyday time with Jesus.  Sin breaks fellowship with the lord and we need forgiveness to restore back fellowship with the Lord…

1 John 1:9

1. If We – this reveals the fact that we will sin after we are saved – 1 John 1:8, 10

-we must take responsibility for our sins

2. Confess – means to say the same thing the Lord says about sin

                  – means to agree with the Lord

-it is not just talking, but repenting

                     FORGIVENESS STATEMENTS

1. God is a Forgiving God – Eph 4:32…Jere 31:34…Psalm 103:1-5

-The Lord stands ready to forgive…..

            2 Things To Note

      1. The Lord cannot forgive a sin that is hidden – Ex 2:11-4 & Prov 28:13

       2. A Lie From The Enemy

-You have gone too far and have sinned too much and too badly to be forgiven

-God forgives All sins

2. Rejecting Jesus as your personal savior and Lord will not be forgiven – Matt 12:22-23

-this is blaspheming the Holy Spirit
