  1. 8:15 For you did not receive the SPIRIT OF BONDAGE again to FEAR, but you received the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION by whom we cry out, ABBA FATHER

  1. (NKJV) SPIRIT OF BONDAGE (NASB slavery)

    1. Spirit of bondage = a reference to the Law of Moses

    2. The Law is a revelation of God’s righteous character what is right and holy is defined by His character

    3. The law exposed sin yet did not set anyone free from it

    4. Don’t try to go back under the Law of Moses

    5. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit

    6. 2 Corinthians 3:17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom

    7. Not only are we free from sin we are free to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives

    1. If you are not under Grace you are under Wrath and you should be afraid

    2. Repentance leads to grace rebellion leads to wrath

    3. Believers need not fear the things of this world

    4. Agoraphobia = fear of leaving home

    5. Dental phobia = I have this one

    6. Alektorophobia = fear of chickens

    7. Acrophobia = fear of heights

    8. Anxiety  = fear of the future

    9. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind

  1. SPIRIT OF ADOPTION You are no longer a slave you are family

    1. Adoption = ad option to be CHOSEN and added to the family

    2. Adopted children have a serious need

    3. The moment the adoption is final adopted children instantly are elevated economically, socially, physically, mentally, spiritually

    4. Children of God are adopted in with full rights

    5. Children of God are adopted in with full responsibilities

    6. Children of God produce the fruit of the Spirit

    7. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is

    8. 1 Corinthians 13 the love chapter

    9. Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my strength

    10. Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

    11. longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control

    12. Matthew 7:1 Do not judge lest you be judged

    13. We are not to judge some-one by their sin

    14. We are not to assume that your sin is worse than my sin

    15. However we can tell if someone is born again by their fruit.  We can be a fruit inspector

    1. Through the Spirit of Adoption we can call him Abba Father
