8:15 For you did not receive the SPIRIT OF BONDAGE again to FEAR, but you received the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION by whom we cry out, ABBA FATHER
-
(NKJV) SPIRIT OF BONDAGE (NASB slavery)
-
Spirit of bondage = a reference to the Law of Moses
-
The Law is a revelation of God’s righteous character what is right and holy is defined by His character
-
The law exposed sin yet did not set anyone free from it
-
Don’t try to go back under the Law of Moses
-
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit
-
2 Corinthians 3:17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom
-
Not only are we free from sin we are free to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives
-
-
8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to FEAR
-
If you are not under Grace you are under Wrath and you should be afraid
-
Repentance leads to grace rebellion leads to wrath
-
Believers need not fear the things of this world
-
Agoraphobia = fear of leaving home
-
Dental phobia = I have this one
-
Alektorophobia = fear of chickens
-
Acrophobia = fear of heights
-
Anxiety = fear of the future
-
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
-
John 8:58 Before Abraham was I AM
-
-
SPIRIT OF ADOPTION You are no longer a slave you are family

-
Children of God are adopted in with full responsibilities
-
Children of God produce the fruit of the Spirit

-
1 Corinthians 13 the love chapter

-
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control
-
Matthew 7:1 Do not judge lest you be judged
-
We are not to judge some-one by their sin
-
We are not to assume that your sin is worse than my sin
-
However we can tell if someone is born again by their fruit. We can be a fruit inspector
-
-
He is our Abba Father
-
Through the Spirit of Adoption we can call him Abba Father
