Daniel 12

v1 – Michael – one of 3 archangels ————- Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer

-each angel was in charge of one third of the angels

-Michael is the defender of Israel

At That Time – when the Antichrist turns against Israel to try to destroy the nation

stand up – means just to stay standing and get ready to defend Israel

a. this is continuous action.  The angel is standing with Israel continuously

b. the word stand also means to stand still.  Michael stands still to allow trouble to come to Israel – the tribulation period

(1) THE TRIBULATION PERIOD IS A 7 YEAR PERIOD OF TIME SET ASIDE BY THE LORD TO DEAL WITH ISRAEL – Daniel 12:1,7

a. the tribulation is not for the church

b. we are now living in the church age

c. the church is to bring Jewish people and gentiles to the Lord for salvation and growth

d. Ephesians 3:1-10

     vs3-5 mystery – something hidden, but now revealed

-the church was revealed to Paul, but hidden in the OT times

     v6 – the church is for those who are Jewish and gentiles

     v10 – the body of Christ has been made known to everyone that it exists

e. there tribulation is for Israel – Jeremiah 30:7

-to get the nation of Israel to be saved – Zech 12:9-10, 13:1,9b

(2) THE TRIBULATION WILL BE A TIME OF GREAT HARVEST – Daniel 12:1-3

v1b – Israel will be delivered from this time of tribulation

v1c – the Lord is all about redemption – the book of Life

v2 – this is the final resurrection

v3 – wise – are believers

a. they receive a new body

b. they lead many to the lord who are now light

Ways people will come to know Jesus Christ during the Tribulation

* the 2 witnesses – Rev 7:4,9,10,13-14

*the 144,000 – Rev 7:4, 9, 10, 13-14

*an angel flying over the world – Rev 14:6

*believers who are saved during the tribulation

-the tribulation is a time of great harvest…….

(3) THE TRIBULATION CONTINUES TO REVEAL THE GRACE OF GOD – ZECH 12:10

-the tribulation period is a time of judgment, but it shows the grace of God

-the Lord gives multiple chances to be saved

-the Lord waits and is patient concerning people getting saved
