Sermon notes 11/5 – Pressure to promise a pathway through our breakthrough
Pressure to promise a pathway through our breakthrough – Mark 5:21-42
Run by faith-How do we run by faith?
What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 tells us faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. – faith is a complete, active trust and reliance on God, His character, His promises, and
the redemptive work of Jesus Christ -Where are you lacking complete and total trust and
reliance on Jesus
Jairus and this woman were running by faith because they knew Jesus was their only hope.
they trusted in who he is, his promises and were completely reliant upon for their breathrough.
2 Corinthians 5:7 walk by faith and not by sight
If we focus solely on our obstacles instead of our all
powerful God we are already defeated. Let’s run this race by faith in Jesus and Him alone. Not what we hear. Not
what we see, not what we feel or think. Just faith in Jesus.
Yes, difficult situations arise, we don’t deny them. We Don’t deny but magnify.
Running by faith is not denying the issue, it’s focusing on and magnifying the one who is
bringing us through the breakthrough.
Ephesians 6:16- Shield of faith
we are called to run by faith and not by
sight.
When we forget or don’t pick up the shield of faith. When trials, difficulties and situations
arrive these things get into our eyes and then into our mind and then into our heart. The
problem with this is Once these issues get into our eyes it becomes all we can see and
consumes us and cripples us because we are no longer running by faith.
You can not run by faith while focusing on the thing that needs resurrection. We run by faith by
focusing on the resurrector!
Matthew 6:22–23 (The Eye as the Lamp)
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will
be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of
darkness.”
Run to the feet of Jesus
Mark 5:22-24, 27-29, 33-34
It starts at His feet with surrender and repentance
We have to be willing to lay down our reputation, our jobs, our plans and our life to run
by faith. Just like Jairus did.
Strip off every weight that easily entangles you Hebrews 12:1-2
Proverbs 3:5 trust in the Lord with all your heart… not half your heart. Not your mind
trusts the truth with all your heart.
When we run to his feet and surrender we lay down all pride, our own ideas, our own
desires and we trust in the king and Lord of Lords. AND we say Lord I trust you! It
doesn’t always make sense and it might be scary at times but I trust this issue in your
hands and control Lord
We have to run to Jesus first (it’s ok to go to doctors) because Jesus is The only one
who can bring your dead situation back to life, and cause a breakthrough so we must
run to Him first not last. He can raise the dead, He can raise a dead marriage, or a dead
business.
Mark 5: 25-35
Living a life surrendered starts on our knees before the king of kings. Acknowledging
that we can’t run this race without Him
Let Him Lead; Timing is everything
Galatians 6:9 – we have a promise in due time. Your breakthrough is coming
Jairus kept running by faith even in the delay. He didn’t let a road block get him off
course. A waiting season is not a wasted season.
Delay isn’t always a denial
James 1:2–4
Letting Him Lead means trusting his timing and his course. Even when it looks harder,
even when it doesn’t make sense let Him Lead.
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.
We can plan all we want but the Lord directs our steps and our path. It’s up to us to stick
to the course set before us and LET HIM LEAD.
Luke 9:1
Recognise and utilize the Power and authority of Jesus
-In vs 23 Jarius recognized the power and authority of Jesus
-In verse 28 the woman recognized the power.
-In verse 30 Jesus recognized the power had gone out
-In verse 41 Jesus utilized that power to tell the young girl to arise and she did.
Romans 8:11 – the same power that raised Jesus from the dead…
