Sermon Notes 10/11 – 8 Powerful Words

1 PETER 4:7

NEVER FORGET

-we were radically saved & changed the day we were saved

-2 Reactions:

        1. 1 Peter 2:11-12 – people will be saved by the change in our lives

        2. 1 Peter 4:1-4 – people will think we are weird and strange – say NO

serious (NKJV) means to have sound judgment/balanced & steady

-we must keep our minds clear concerning the return of Jesus because we could become mockers and scoffers

verse 1 – the theme of the return of Jesus continues in 2 Peter 3

-the words min and remember speak about to NEVER FORGET………..

stir up – means to be fully awake

-the church must wake up

-NEVER FORGET

verse 2 – The OT and NT prophets and apostles wrote about the return of Jesus

Zechariah 14:1-4, 9

Rev 19:11-15

verse 3 – Knowing – means to NEVER FORGET—always remembering

first – means above everything else = reveals the importance for what is being stated

Last days – the days pointing to the return of Jesus (the last of the last days)

Scoffers and Mockers  – means to make fun of someone continuously

be sarcastic…put down & insult…make faces

-these scoffers and what they say affect our minds

verse 4 – saying – is to continuously say

-do not become a scoffer – stand on the Word of God

verses 5-7 – the scoffers forget but we must never forget that Jesus is coming

-the scoffers make a willful choice to ignore and disregard the Bible

verses 8-9 – NEVER FORGET

-the last days will be hard, but the Lord has promised that He will provide – 2 Timothy 3:1-8

The Lord will take care of us and provide for us in the last days….
