Revelation Chapter 13

The Antichrist

Verse 1 – Sand of the sea – Represents humanity
              – Beast – Will be a human being

Antichrist points

1. The antichrist spirit is moving across the globe – 1 John 2:18

         -There are two streams moving today – an outpouring and antichrist

2 Names

Antichrist – means to be against and oppose – Christianity, Jesus & the Bible
Beast – means ferocious; savage; violent and aggressive
A blasphemous name – that rebels against Jesus and the Word of God
1 John 2:18-29 – refer to the spirit of antichrist
Verse 18 – deception through false doctrine and teaching
– Deception refers to a planet that gets out of orbit
Little children – those who are young believers regardless of their age
Test the spirits – 1 John 4:1-4
The antichrist spirit can even be in the church – Acts 20:28-31
Verse 19 – They cannot influence believers who know the Bible
Verse 20 – This is the Holy Spirit who is truth
-He gives us a check in our spirit when something told to us is not correct

2. THE antichrist IS A LIAR – John 8:44

1 John 2:22-23 – the spirit of antichrist is a lying spirit
Verse 22 – denying Jesus is the Christ is a lie.  This means Jesus Christ is God
Verse 23 – You do not have the Son or the Father if you deny the Son is God
Verse 24 – Remain in the teaching in the Bible – IN CONTEXT
Verse 25 – Promise – a pledge and divine assurance & commitment
Verse 26 – deceive – means to lead astray & seduce
Verse 27 – we are never at anyone’s mercy who is teaching us because we have the Holy Spirit in us
Verse 28 – little children – are all born-again believers
abide – means to stay or remain
Jesus will appear – we just do not know when
– Serve the Lord before He returns so you will not feel bad standing before
 the Lord
Verse 29 – Live for the Lord and be saved

3. THE antichrist IS DEMON-POSSESSED – Revelation 13:2

-the antichrist is influenced, energized, and motivated by demons

He will use two ways to gain and keep power:

1. PEACE – 1 Thess 5:3 & Rev 6:1-3                                             
2. WORDS — Rev 13:5-6
