Sermon Notes 8/13 – Revelation Chapter 10
REVELATION CHAPTER 10
Verse 8 – INVITATION
Take the book – this is the Bible, and Jesus offers the little book to us
-Have a hunger for the Word of God
Verse 9 – devour it – eat it – all of it
Verses 9-10 – the Word is sweet and bitter – eat and swallow it all
Preach The Word – 2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the Word to everyone – Revelation 10:2
When we preach the Word, the enemy attacks:
1. Don’t be afraid of demons.
They can’t handle the One to whom we are joined to
-Remember – demons are only as strong as the power we permit them to have in our lives
2. Invade enemy territory
– Joshua 1:3
Why preach and devour the Word of God?
1. The Bible is the only book written by God
– 2 Peter 1:20-21
-One theme – Redemption
Verse 20 – keep everything in context – EXODUS 31:16-17
Verse 21 – no scripture has ever come from a human being
-WE ARE INHALING WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT EXHALED THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO
– It is absolute truth
– Do not become co-dependent on a church or pastor – self-feeding
Moved – means to be influenced…to carry along
2. THE BIBLE PRODUCES MORAL CLARITY
– Philippians 1:15-17
defense – means to protect the gospel from its enemies
abortion…marriage…working – 2 Thessalonians 2:6-12
3. THE BIBLE IS ALWAYS ACCOMPLISHING SOMETHING
– Isaiah 55:11
– To save our families – Acts 16:30-31
– To heal our bodies – Proverbs 4:20-22
– To break addictions – Jeremiah 23:29
