Revelation 9

1. Revelation 9:1-12 – The army from the Pit

2. Revelation 9:13-21 – The army from the East

The army from the pit is a demon army – locusts are demons

-Jesus is the Creator of everything

-demons cannot create or save

-their goal is John 10:10

Revelation 9:4,5,10, 11 – hurt/harm/torment/sting/teeth like a lion – tear apart

-the devil rules over the world system – kosmos

-Revelation 9:1 – the devil does not have complete authority

-Demons do not want to let us go – 1 John 2:12-14 – wicked means to pull down to someone’s level

What can we do?

-A part-time believer can never defeat a full-time devil

– be in a command mode – Acts 16:16-18

– use the name of Jesus

Remember: the only thing evil will yield to is a power greater than itself

Revelation 9:13-21 – The Army From The Pit

-These are still the 7 trumpet judgments

verse 13 – this is an unidentified voice

-The golden altar was in the tabernacle. It represents prayer

-the 4 horns – refer to the 4 corners of the world – prayer reaches everywhere

-The golden altar was placed right before the holy of holies – shows the importance of the power of prayer

-blood was on the 4 horns, showing we have access to the Lord in prayer through His blood

Verse 14 – are fallen angels because the Lord’s angels are not bound, but free

-demon forces help to direct the affairs of a nation – Dan 10:11-13,20

-demon forces help to align the nations against ISRAEL – EZEKIEL 38:1-4

-The Jewish people will be regathered back to Israel – Jeremiah 16:14-15

-All of Israel will be saved – Isaiah 59:20

Verse 15 – The Lord has a plan for Israel and for us

Revelation 9:15 – one third of the population left is killed – 4.5 billion people are left

Verse 16 – Much of this death has to do with war

-the war with China

-Zechariah 13:8-9

– A huge army is gathered against Israel – China and other nations, along with a demon army

verses 17-19 – this is a description of the natural and supernatural army

Remember: John is seeing into the 21st century

-Rev 1:9-10 and 2 Peter 3:8-18

verses 20-21 – some people will still not repent

-This will be an age of lawlessness
