Sermon Notes 6/4 – Revelation Chapter 6

REVELATION CHAPTER 6

Verses 12-17 (v17 – wrath)
Wrath – means indignation/righteous anger
-This refers to the 7 seal judgments in Revelation 6
Verses 15-16 – 7 classes of people involved, meaning everyone will be affected
Wrath Points
1. God’s wrath is always toward sin and evil
-It is never intended for people
-The Lord does not want to judge anyone – 2 Peter 3:9
2. God’s wrath is based on people’s decisions
-People make the decision to say yes or no to Jesus for salvation
3. God’s wrath is not for believers – 1 Thessalonians 1:10 & 5:9

REVELATION CHAPTER 7

The Outline of Chapter 7:
1. Revelation 7:1-8 – 144,000 Jewsish believers
2. Revelation 7:9-17 – gentiles from all nations
Revelation 7:1-8 is the first half of the tribulation
-These are 144,00 Jewish evangelists protected by the Lord to preach
Verses 1-3 – the 4 corners of the earth – N, S, E, and W – God’s judgment stops
Verse 4 – the 144,000 are preaching everywhere
Revelations 7:9-17
-These are Gentiles who have been saved during the tribulation
-The Holy Spirit is still moving during the 7-year tribulation period

REVELATION CHAPTER 8

Revelation 8 talks about the Trumpet Judgments
Verse 1 – this is quiet before the storm
Trumpets 1-4 – there are judgments upon the land, seas, and heavenly bodies – verses 6-13

REVELATION CHAPTER 9

OUTLINE – Two Armies
1. Revelation 9:1-12 – The Army From The Pit – 5th Trumpet Judgment
2. Revelation 9:13-21 – The Army From The East – China – the 6th Trumpet Judgment
The Army From The Pit – Revelation 9:1-2
-Demons and the devil are not a fringe topic in the Bible
Verse 1 – the star – this is the devil
-The Lord did not create Satan.  He created an angel, and the angel sinned
-There is no redemption for angels
-One-third of the angels rebelled against the Lord
Revelation 12:7-12
Luke 10:17-20
Isaiah 14:12-15
Ezekiel 28:11-19
Verses 1-2 – the bottomless pit – this is the tunnel leading to hell
-There is a literal hell – Matthew 25:41
Verses 3-12 – The Army From The Pit
Locusts – this is a description of demon forces
Statements About Demons
1. The purpose of demons is to torment and destroy – John 10:10
Verse 4 – hurt or harm
Verse 5 – torment
Verse 8 – like lions’ teeth – crushing and crue10 – sting
v11 – Apollyon means destruction…Abaddon means destroyer
2. Demons have no authority over Believers – Revelation 9:1 & Acts 16:16-18
-the devil rules over the world system – John 14:30 & 12:31
-Demons will find us. We do not have to find them – Mark 5:1-2
