The King is Coming

John 12:9-15

Matthew 24:24 For false christs (messiahs) and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect

Over the years 100’s if not 1000’s have claimed to be either the Messiah or Jesus incarnate himself

JESUS IS GOD: Jesus proclaimed Himself to be the Messiah

John 8:58 Before Abraham was I AM!

Through many miracles Jesus proved that He is the Messiah. He raised Lazarus from the dead

Through fulfilling many prophecies Jesus proved that He is God’s Son the Messiah. There were 100’s of detailed prophecies written about the Messiah

500 years before the time of Jesus. Zechariah 9:9 Behold your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation lowly and riding on a donkey

From Genesis to Revelation ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE you

Only Jesus the sinless lamb of God can save and forgive you of your sins

Psalm 118:25 SAVE NOW I pray O Lord, send now prosperity. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord

The actual Feast was Passover which lasted for a week. On the first day families would select their own passover lamb to sacrifice at the end of the week

This is the same day Jesus rode into town. Jesus would also be sacrificed on Passover

Luke 19:37 They were Rejoicing and Praising Jesus

Praise Magnifies the God of the solution

Hosanna = SAVE US NOW a desperate cry for salvation. Echoing the Prophecy of Psalm 118

Palm Sunday was the beginning of Passion week

There was a big change from Sunday to Friday

From shouting Hosanna to shouting Crucify

What caused this change? The jews were thinking Jesus was there to save them from the Romans. Jesus was actually there to save them from their sins

The Cross was the roman from of execution

Tetelestai = It Is Finished! The mission was completed and the price for sin has been paid mankind has been redeemed

There is POWER in the cross you just have to realize it
