-the anointing is the Holy Spirit who lives within us

2. An ANOINTING OF ACTION – Acts 10:38

-the anointing is to do something

3. An Anointing of ATTRACTION

-we attract people and demons

verse 22 – they doubted Jesus was the Messiah

vs23-24 – if you are the Messiah, do miracles here for us

-Jesus became familiar to them because He grew up in Nazareth & knew Him

vs25-27 – Jesus tells them the truth and they reject it

-Israel will be bypassed by God to go to the gentiles

vs28-30 – The Reaction of The Crowd –

-wrath/hatred/prejudice

       THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS 2-FOLD:

1. THE ANOINTING ATTRACTS PEOPLE

2. THE ANOINTING ATTRACTS DEMONS

Luke 4:31-41 – Demons can be in church

-the demon manifested when the anointing showed up

            THREE POINTS

     1. BELIEVERS CAN NEVER BE DEMON POSSESSED – v36

-only unbelievers can be possessed…believers are filled with the Holy Spirit

-when demons come up people come to their senses – Mark 5:15

     2. THE ANOINTING INCLUDES AUTHORITY – vs33-37

rebuke – is an authoritative acts that silences, restrains and removes an enemy

     3. STOP LETTING THE ENEMY DO ALL OF THE TALKING – v35

-tell the enemy to “Be Quiet”

-watch out for familiar giants and sins of the past – 2 Samuel 5:17.  Guard yourself from past sins…….
