Devotional Guide

Here’s a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the transcription:

Day 1: The Living Hope
Reading: 1 Peter 1:3-9

Devotional: The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, offering us a living hope that transcends our earthly circumstances. Just as the women at the tomb were told, “He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:6), we too can rejoice in the power of the resurrected Christ. This hope is not wishful thinking, but a confident expectation rooted in the historical fact of Jesus’ resurrection.

Reflect on areas in your life where you need renewed hope. How does the reality of Christ’s resurrection change your perspective on these situations? Remember, our inheritance is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us. Let this truth strengthen your faith, even in the midst of trials.

Day 2: The Power of Forgiveness
Reading: Psalm 103:1-12

Devotional: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). The resurrection of Jesus demonstrates God’s power to forgive all our sins. No matter what we’ve done, no matter how “stinky” our past may be, Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection offer complete cleansing and forgiveness.

Take time today to confess any sins you’ve been holding onto, believing that God truly forgives you. Then, consider someone you need to forgive. How can you extend the same grace God has shown you? Remember, forgiveness is not just a feeling, but a choice to release someone from the debt they owe you, just as Christ has released you.

Day 3: From Death to Life
Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Devotional: The story of Lazarus being raised from the dead (John 11) foreshadows the greater resurrection power of Jesus. This power not only raised Christ from the dead but also gives new life to us who were “dead in our trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1). Just as Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb, He calls us out of our spiritual death into new life.

Reflect on the areas of your life that still need this resurrection power. Are there habits, thought patterns, or relationships that need to be brought from death to life? Thank God for His grace that saves us and empowers us to live a new life in Christ. Ask Him to continue His transforming work in you.

Day 4: Witnesses to the Resurrection
Reading: Acts 1:1-11

Devotional: The disciples’ lives were radically changed by witnessing the resurrected Christ. They went from hiding in fear to boldly proclaiming the gospel. Their testimony, along with the countless lives changed throughout history, stands as powerful evidence of Christ’s resurrection and ongoing work.

Consider your own testimony. How has encountering the living Christ changed your life? You may not have physically seen Jesus, but how have you experienced His presence and power? Ask God for opportunities to share your story with others, being a witness to the resurrection in your own sphere of influence.

Day 5: Living in Light of Eternity
Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58

Devotional: The resurrection of Jesus gives us a glimpse into our eternal future. We are surrounded by a “great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) – those who have gone before us in faith. This eternal perspective should shape how we live our daily lives.

Reflect on how the promise of resurrection and eternal life impacts your priorities. Are there areas where you need to realign your focus in light of eternity? Remember, because of the resurrection, our labor in the Lord is not in vain. Let this truth motivate you to live wholeheartedly for Christ, knowing that what we do in this life has eternal significance.
