Sermon Notes 10/6 – Surrounded

2 Chronicles 20:1- 4, 17 – Israel was Surrounded

-v17 – Position Yourself

               ***Position means to take a stand…take your post…Refuse to move off of God’s Word…It is having a determined steadfast faith in the Lord

POSITION YOURSELF IN A PLACE OF TRUST

-Israel camped for 8 days at the Red Sea – 8 is the # of new beginnings & a fresh start

-Israel positioned themselves in a state of expectation

     2 Things to Note:

1. If the Lord brings you to it, He will bring you through it -= Exodus 13:17-18 and Exodus 14:26-31

       ***  The Lord doesn’t always lead us to an easy place

2. Access the power of Recall – 1 Chronicles 16:12 & Psalm 143:5

***Recall what the Lord has done for you in the past

2. POSITION YOURSELF IS A PLACE OF HONOR

-Be more concerned for God’s glory then for your own personal relief  – Ex 14:3-4

-Lord be glorified in our lives

– 1 Peter 2:11-12 – the culture is watching us

Ask the Right Question: How can the Lord be glorified and honored in this situation?

-The Lord never wastes suffering and neither should we

3. POSITION YOURSELF IN A POSITION OF PRAYER AND PRAISE

INTENSE PRAYER – Exodus 14:5-14 (v14 – hold your peace)

1. There is a right time to pray and it is all of the time – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-21

2. There are also crisis prayers

INTENTIONAL PRAISE

Exodus 15:1-5, 11-13, 20-21

-this is the first recorded song in scripture

-intentional praise is a no matter what praise

-intentional praise goes against feelings, emotions and I don’t want to’s

-Intentional praise produces miracles and breakthroughs
