Sermon Notes 4/13 – Joel 3 – The Last Days

verse 9 – Proclaim – the Lord has an announcement to make

-this is the battle of Armageddon

-mighty men – are soldiers

***SECONDARY APPLICATION

-the church must wake up and fight

                           3 Ways to Fight:

    1. Vote for people who are closest to the Bible in their policies – Prov 29:2

    2. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit – 1 Chr 7:14

    3. Be a voice – Matt 3:1-3

v10 – turn everything into weapons to fight with

let the weak say – everyone must be in this battle

         REFERS TO TODAYS CHURCH:
1. every believer must be all in & enter into the fight

               2. use economic tools to purchase weapons – arm sales across the globe

v11 – the angels (mighty ones) will join in the battle

v12 – Valley of Jehosophat refers to the battle of Armageddon – and means Jehovah is Judge

v13 – the harvest of God’s judgment upon the nations of the world occurs – Isaiah 63:3-6

-wickedness will increase – as in the days of Noah – Genesis 6:5

v14 – Multitudes – these are the enemies of Israel

-this is God’s decision to judge the nations

-this is not a salvation verse

v15 – Darkness covers the earth – Matthew 24:29-30

v16 – The Lord returns to earth and lights up everything with His glory

-the Lord’s people will be given strength

v17 – aliens – are unbelievers – only believers will be walking in Israel

v18 – this is the millennial reign of Jesus Christ – blessings & prosperity

v19 – Egypt & Syria will be judged – Edom is Syria

v20 – Israel will always exist

v21 – The Lord is with Israel and will avenge the killing & persecution that the nations did against Israel

                                             ARMAGEDDON

Armageddon – means the hill or mountain of Megiddo

1. THE PLACE OF THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON – Revelation 16:12-21

v12 – is one of the bowl judgments of God

-the Euphrates River supernaturally dries up to help China get to Israel

vs13-14 – Demons are unleashed

dragon – is the devil    beats – the antichrist      false prophet – false religious prophet

-watch – keep your spiritual eyes open

-keep your clothes on – spiritual clothes

v16 – the place is the Mount of Megiddo or Mount of Slaughter

Revelation 14:20 – the blood from Armageddon is 200 miles long

2. THE PURPOSE OF THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON –

a. to finalize the Lord’s judgment on Israels’ enemies – Jude 14

b. To Save Israel – Zech 12:10 & 13:1

3. THE PERSONAL RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST – Revelation 19:11-21

-all eyes will see Him return – Rev 1:7

-Armageddon is not the end of the world
