Sermon Notes 1/22 – The Last Days

-Christianity doesn’t start with a DO, but a DONE and a WHO…..

           ***Look what Jesus has DONE for us

           ***WHO we are in Christ

(1.) OUR IDENTITY IS ONLY IN JESUS CHRIST – Ephesians 1:3

-In Christ……..In Him……..In Whom

-Our identity is not in what we do as an occupation

-Our identity is not in our political affiliation

-Our identity is not in what generation we are a part of

-Our identity is not in our church affiliation

-Our identity is not in any issue or problem

-Our identity is only in Jesus Christ

RESIST – James 4:7 & 1 Peter 5:8-9

-when it comes to who we are in Christ, we must resits some things:

-resist  – means to stand firm on the Word of God and against all opposition.  It is a military term

         ***we get the word antihistamine which means to push away all hindrances and unclog all obstacles and hindrances

1. WE MUST HAVING A WRONG IMAGE OF GOD

-YOU CAN PLACE A TON OF THE LORDs qualities on this same screen such as th Lord is Holy, Righteous, Good, Merciful, Savior, Deliverer, Healer and Gracious

2. WE MUST RESIST COMPARING THE LORD WITH BAD AUTHORITIES – Bosses, dads and family members, pastors and teachers

3. WE MUST RESIST THE LIES OF THE ENEMY  – JOHN 8:44

           ONE OF THE SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS WE RECEIVE AT SALVATION IS THAT WE ARE CHOSEN – Ephesians 1:4-5

Chosen – means to be selected…handpicked…called out

1. Being chosen means WE ARE GODS CHOICE…

-He never rejects us, turns us away & abandons us

-God’s choice can never be removed.  The Lord choosing us is forever…

2. The Lord Chooses everyone to be saved  – Ephesians 1:4-5
