Sermon Notes 11/17 – The Holy Spirit

John 16:12-15 – the Holy Spirit points to Jesus & His second coming

***DIVINE CERTAINTY is needed today when it comes to the Word and Jesus

***THE HOLY SPIRIT CREATES AN INTERNAL REVOLUTION THAT RESULTS IN AN EXTERNAL REVOLUTION

          Internal Revolution

-it starts the day we are born – Jeremiah 1:5-10

-then we are convicted as a nonbeliever – John 16:8-11

-then we are saved and receive the Holy Spirit – 1 Cor 3:16

-the Holy Spirit separates us from sin and transforms us – Romans 12:1-3 – this happens through daily Supernatural Encounters with the Lord – it sustains us – Daniel 6:10

***Say yes to the process of the Holy Spirit***

***Belivers grow as much as they want to grow***

            EVERY SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

                                         INCLUDES 3 THINGS

1. Empowerment – Luke 4:16-18 – this is the power, awakening & anointing of the Holy Spirit to help in every area of our lives

2. Change – Acts 9:1-4, 10-19, 26-27

-Change only came when Paul had a Supernatural Encounter with the Holy Spirit

3. Impact – this is reaching out to others with the gospel

When there is a supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit, there is such an impact:

            1. that is totally and completely noticeable

            2. we become totally other centered

THIS IS AN EXTERNAL REVOLUTION – an internal revolution results in an external revolution – we need to tell everyone about Jesus……..

-It’s time to go fishing – Matthew 4:19

It’s time to seek the after the lost – Luke 19:10

We must understand eternity – 2 Peter 3:9 & Jude 1:13

People do listen – Isaiah 55:11

***WARNING: Do not get involved in witnessing wars……….

-this is verbal witnessing and using our lives as a witnessing tool

***The Holy Spirit is all about the harvest – 1 Cor 12:8-11

Acts 3:1-10 – the gifts are also for outside of the church just like the book of Acts
