Sermon Notes 10/6- The Holy Spirit

***The Holy Spirit points to Jesus

-John 15:26 & 16:14

***John the Baptist pointed to Jesus also – John 1:19-34

          a. The Holy Spirit points to Jesus and His return – John 16:13

-the Holy Spirit will show us things to come – Titus 2:12-15

-Looking for Jesus and pointing to Jesus

***THE HOLY SPIRIT IS REVEALING TO THE CHURCH THAT IT IS HARVEST TIME – John 4:30-38

vs1-8 – I must go through Samaria

-harvest time is NOW

-v35 – do not say the harvest is coming in the future

***SEE THE HARVEST – v35b

-lift up your eyes – redirect your attention to the harvest and winning the lost to Jesus

-It is amazing what Christians have their eyes on

-Focus on the harvest:

—It is the priority in heaven – Luke 15:1-10

—It is the priority on earth – Luke 10:17-20

***GET INTO THE HARVEST – vs36-38

Hosea 6:1 – a harvest is appointed for ccwc

***THE REWARD OF THE HARVEST – v36

-those who sow and reap receive rewards

***THE HOLY SPIRIT IS POINTING US TO JESUS AND SHOWING US THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRUTH AND DECEPTION – Matt 24:5,11,23-25

-there will be great deception in the last days

-3 times Jesus spoke about the Holy Spirit being a Spirit of truth – John 16:13…John 14:17 and John 15:26

TRUTH – it speaks of something that is reliable, faithful, true, stable and trustworthy

        ***1 John 2:26-28 – do not be gullible and believe everything you hear

***THE HOLY SPIRIT POINTS US TO JESUS TO LET US KNOW THAT FAITH CONQUERS FEAR – Luke 21:7-18, 25-28

-fear is a sign of the last days

               1. Face Fear With A Decision

-fear is real and can be felt

-speak to that fear and let it know you are taking it down

-stop letting the enemy do all of the talking

-Mark 5:21-43

      v39 – we can chose to walk in faith and not in fear even in our darkest moments

                2. Guard Yourself From The Fear Of End Time Uncertainties

-stand on the Word of God

-remember that fear is a spirit and the enemy makes us afraid of what could happen
