Sermon Notes 9/15 – The Holy Spirit Points to Jesus

THE HOLY SPIRIT POINTS TO JESUS – John 15:26 & 16:14

-the Holy Spirit only points to Jesus

-only Jesus is to be worshipped and adored

***1 Cor 3:1-7…Deut 34:5-6…Rev 19:9-10

              ***The Holy Spirit Points To Jesus and His Return – John 16:13

-the Holy Spirit will show us things to come

Titus 2:12-15

——-Looking For – the return of the Lord

                The Holy Spirit is showing us that:

(1.) IT’S HARVEST TIME – John 4:30-38

vs1-8 – I must go through Samaria

-the Samaritans were half breeds and Israel looked down on them

vs9-24 -Jesus witnesses to the woman at the well & she was saved

vs8, 25-31 – the disciples were hungry

vs31 – the disciples thoughts were on physical food

vs32-33 – the disciples thought Jesus had eaten

v34 – Jesus was only hunger for spiritual food

v35 – IT IS HARVEST TIME NOW

-the harvest is not down the road

(2.) SEE THE HARVEST – v35b

what are you looking at?  What do we see?

-see what the Lord sees

-The harvest is the priority in heaven – Luke 15:1-10

-The harvest is the priority on earth – Luke 10:17-20

(3.) GET INTO THE HARVEST – vs36-38

Hosea 6:1 – there is a harvest appointed for CCWC

-the harvest is to reach unbelievers

(4.) THE REWARD OF THE HARVEST – v36

-those who sow and reap receive rewards from the Lord

(2.) THE HOLY SPIRIT IS POINTING US TO JESUS AND SHOWING US THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRUTH AND DECEPTION – Matthew 24:5,11, 23-25

-there will be great amounts of deception during the last days we are living in

-Jesus spoke 3 times about the Holy Spirit being a Spirit of truth

***John 16:13…John 14:17…John 15:26

The Word Truth:

—it speaks to something that is faithful, trustworthy, reliable, sure and true

—1 John 2:26-28

-the Holy Spirit will never lead us astray or lead us the wrong way
