Sermon Notes 6/5 – The Power of The Voice

                                            Mark 6:45-52

***The Lord’s Voice is powerful and will help get us through any storm

Mark 6:50 reveals 3 Statements Jesus made to the disciples during the Storm

1. Take Courage

2. I Am

3. Do not be afraid

-We must understand that Fear can be felt and sensed – Luke 21:10-18

                *we do not have to be consumed by fear

-the words do not be afraid actually mean – STOP BEING AFRAID – STOP IT…

                   How Can We Stop Being Afraid?

(1.) WE CAN STOP BEING AFRAID BY NEVER DISMISSING THE POWER OF GOD – Genesis 18:14

-to give in to fear is to assume that the Lord is powerless

-Jere 10:12 & 32:17…..Mark 10:27…….Luke 1:37

-turn to Jesus first and keep turning to Jesus when it comes to fear and every issue we encounter

-Declare how powerful the Lord is

(2.)  DON’T ASSUME THAT YOU ARE POWERLESS OVER FEAR – ISAIAH 41:10 & 43:1-3

-we must attack fear and anything that comes against us

          ***WE MUST KNOW THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO DEFEAT FEAR WHEN WE KNOW WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST – 2 Timothy 1:7

-confess who the Lord says you are

-talk back to fear

-We are redeemed through the blood of Jesus – 1 Peter 1:18-19 & Col 1:13-15

-We are totally delivered from the kingdom of darkness and its characteristics

–We have received all spiritual blessings from Jesus one of which is authority

                  AUTHORITY – PRACTICE 2 THINGS

1. WE MUST USE OUR AUTHORITY – Acts 16:16-18

-freedom from fear only happens by confrontation

-be in a command mode

-use the name of Jesus Christ

-we are battling a spirit of fear

***We are giving the enemy an eviction notice***

2. WE MUST USE OUR AUTHORITY CONTINUALLY – James 4:7

-the spirit of fear can return – take authority over it

-fear has no power over us unless we give it power…….
