4 Characteristics of the Holy Spirit

***Regeneration—salvation & life

***Anointing — service

***Filled — character and fruit

***Baptism — power

***These 4 characteristics all connect together…….

Characteristic # 1 ——- REGENERATION ——- salvation and life ——- Titus 3:5

***Regeneration produces salvation and life – John 10:10 and John 3:16

-words for regeneration are saved, redeemed and born again

-we are delivered from the powers of darkness, the world system & the sin nature

     a. @ Regeneration the power of sin is broken – Ephesians 2:1-9 & 1 Jn 2:1-3

     b. @ Regeneration our spirit is saved

     c. @ Regeneration we receive the Holy Spirit – 1 Cor 3:16

Ephesians 4:4 – all believers are a part of the body of Christ

     d. @ Regeneration salvation occurs immediately – Matthew 4:19

-discipleship is a process

     e. @ Regeneration we possess salvation – 1 John 5:13

     f. Regeneration is not by works – Eph 2:8-10

-no human being can save themselves

     g. Regeneration is only through Jesus Christ – John 14:6 & Acts 4:12

(2.) ANOINTING ——-SERVICE

        Definition of Anointing – it means to contact, smear or rub with oil – Is 61:1

-the Lord relied upon the Holy Spirit to perform healings and miracles

-the anointing of the Holy Spirit is the presence of God – Acts 10:38

There Are 2 Main Anointings:

                        1. PERSONAL ANOINTING – 1 John 2:18-27

-this anointing enables us to discern what is true or false

-v27 – we are never at anyones mercy when it comes to being taught the Bible

                        2. PRACTICAL ANOINTING – Zechariah 4:6

-the practical anointing is for anyone who is serving

-this is what changes the lives of people

         DESIRE THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

    a. practice the spiritual discipline disciplines every day

    b. Live for Jesus

    c. Serve Jesus – do something

Luke 4:16-21 – Jesus Christ was anointed by the Holy Spirit to do acts of service
