Acts 12

verse1 – this is the first political attack on the early church

-the culture and political officials were against Christianity

mistreat -and harass – this speaks of oppression…torment…do evil against

v2 – James the apostle is murdered

v3 – Peter is arrested for the 3rd time

-do not allow a delay in receiving your breakthrough disappoint you

                                     FERVENT PRAYER

(1.) FERVENT PRAYER IS CONSTANT PRAYER – Luke 18:1

a. Constant prayer is constant prayer – continually pray

-every believer has a purpose

b. Constant payer produces supernatural Holy Spirit momentum

-this is why things keep happening continually

c. Constant prayer is not a lack of faith – Matthew 7:7-8

d. Constant prayer is not just for when you are in trouble

-pray at all times – in the good and bad times

(2.) FERVENT PRAYER IS ON FIRE PRAYER – James 5:13-18

-the word fervent means to boil, glow and burn

(3.) FERVENT PRAYER CAUSES A MEETING – Acts 12:1-4

a. we meet with the Lord – to get to know Him

b. we meet with the enemy

fervent or constant – means to keep the pressure on

***We cannot let go of the rope

***We need others to help us pray so the enemy will not win

——-the enemy tries to take us out of our prayer rhythm

——-the enemy will target be.ievers who pray

94.) FERVENT PRAYER RELEASES THE SUPERNATURAL – VS7-11

***angels are released by the Lord to do His bidding

***Nothing humanly possible could be done to help Peter

REMEMBER: The supernatural power of God only worked to do what Peter could not do for Himself……..
