Make Right Choices…..2 Right Choices in Proverbs Chapter 2
(1) FIRST RIGHT CHOICE – vs4-9
***CHOOSE TO BE RELENTLESS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CHRISTIANITY***
relentless – means to be determined/unyielding/decisive/unstoppable/constant/a completer – complete the task at hand/someone who will go after it/never give up
Examples:
Mining Silver – the money hard work, refining it, delivering it, mining it
Hidden Treasures – in the ocean and underground
-the time effort, money, equipment, endurance
You must be relentless the same way when it comes to your Christianity…
Examples of Relentless People in Christianity
(1) Mark 10:46-52 – Blind Bartimaeus
v46 – he was blind physically and spiritually
v47 – He heard Jesus was present
v48 – they told Bartimaeus to be quiet as he cried out to Jesus
v49 – Jesus stood still – being relentless will stop Jesus in His tracks
Bartimaeus received 2 blessings:
1. He could see physically
2. He was saved
(2) Luke 8:43-47 – The Woman With An Issue Of Blood
*she persisted through the crowds
*she persisted through the barriers of society
*she persisted even though she was sick
(3) Genesis 32:24-30 – Jacob Wrestled With God
-Jacob would not let go until he was blessed by God
(1) 2ND RIGHT CHOICE – MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE TO STAY ON THE RIGHT ROAD
-there is a right road and a wrong road
v12 – the wrong road is the evil road
a. its a road of bad talk – v12
perverse – means unrestrained/impulsive/disrespectful
b. it’s a road with bad influences – VS13-14
-who are you hanging out with
-you become who you hang out with
c. it’s a road of bad behavior – vs15-19
v16 – immorality
-woman is singular because one wrong choice can destroy your life
There is a right road – vs20-21 – choose the right road
v20 – it is a road of God’s goodness – speaks of the benefits of the Lord
Psalm 103:1-5
v11 – make right choices – discretion – count the cost – there is a price to pay for the road you take
