Two Questions

Matthew 24 – 25

                          The Olivet Discourse

***These 2 chapters speak of the 7 year tribulation period that is coming and the second coming of Jesus Christ……..

                     ——-the rapture of the church has already taken place

verse 1 – Jesus just had it out with the Pharisees and Scribes in Matthew 23

*Jesus leaves the temple and never returns again.

                  ***We need Jesus to be in the house – Rev 3:20 – Let Him in…

     Why did Jesus leave the temple:

1. He was rejected

2. A Building is not needed to house the presence of the Lord

-NT believers have the Holy Spirit within them

Temple – means a sacred or holy place – this is Herod’s temple

-the disciples are admiring the buildings and architecture

v2 – Jesus says the temple is all going to be destroyed

truly – means a firm and dogmatic statement

v3 – 2 QUESTIONS

QUESTION #1 – WHEN WILL THESE THINGS BE?

Luke 21:20-24 – 40 years later General Titus and Romae destroy the temple and city

-this happens because of their rejection of Jesus Christ

QUESTION#2 – WHAT WILL BE THE SIGN OF YOUR COMING AND OF THE END OF THE AGE?

THE END OF THE AGE – this is the end of the Jewish age and at the end of the 7 year tribulation period

THE SIGN OF YOUR COMING – this is the 2nd coming of Jesus and not the rapture of the church.

Coming – means the personal appearance, return, presence of Jesus

           THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

(1.) THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST IS AN APPOINTMENT

-the Lord has set a day and time when He is returning.  It will not change…

-this has all been confirmed in the Bible

***2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

             -The Rapture and 2nd Coming of Jesus are 2 different events

1. Rapture  – the church meets the Lord in the air – 1 Thess 4:13-18 (v17)

2. 2nd Coming – Jesus and the church come down to earth in Jerusalem – Zechariah 14:1-4

***An APOSTACY comes first and then Jesus Christ comes

-this is a falling away from the Christian faith by teaching wrong doctrine

(2.) THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST IS A DAY OF ANTICIPATION – Titus 2:13-15

What are you magnifying?????

-There is no hope in humanity fixing all of the issues on earth because the main issue is a heart issue and only Jesus Christ can fix that……….

-our only HOPE is in Jesus
