– This is speaking of Exousia power

– Used around 103 times in the NT

(1) THE DEFINITION OF EXOUSIA –

a. Means superhuman power – this is Jesus Christ being in us.

*** Watch out for pride
b. Means to have control over – we have control or the upper hand over the enemy and all demon forces
– This is in control for every believer
– You just have to be saved
– It is delegated authority – Matthew 28:17-19
(2) THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER INCLUDES USING THE NAME OF JESUS –

Acts 4:12———————–Acts 3:1-6———————-Acts 16:16-18

– People are replacing the name of Jesus with the word God

(3) YOU CAN SEE AUTHORITY IN ACTION – Acts 8:14-18

a. The authority to preach and see lives changed – Acts 26:12-18
b. The authority to pray for people to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit – Acts 2:1-17, 19:1-7
c. The authority to cast out demons and come against all demonic oppression – Mark 1:21-28

*** When no answer can be found, it is usually demonic
(4) USE YOUR AUTHORITY – 1 Peter 5:8-9

a. You have the authority as a believer, but there are times we do no understand what we have
b. Righteous indignation is a good thing to have
c. Step out and use your authority

The word power is the word Dynamos – Acts 1:8
– It is used around 116 times in the NT
(1) THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD DUNAMIS – means miraculous power, force and might. Greater ability ————– it is dynamite in us

a. Dynamite power is for NOW
– We need power evangelism – Luke 10:1-2 & Luke 9:1-2
b. Dunamis power is public – Matthew 9:1-8

*** As we listen to the voice of the lord
*** Who will tell us to pray for someone

*** That comes through another person

c. Dynamos power is greater ability power – Acts 1:8
– This power comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit

– Greater ability to praise, pray and witness

d. Dunamis power accompanies the return of the Lord – Matthew 24:29-30

– The whole earth will see it – Rev 1:7

– This is power to return to earth, set up His Kingdom & destroy the enemies of Israel

e. Dynamos power operates through faith

– Faith – means to trust in and rely upon Jesus Christ – 1 Peter 1:5 & 1 Cor 2:3-5 (v5)

– By faith, the dynamos power of the Lord is moving and having His way…
