THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION

Philippians 3:10

Phil 3:10 – KNOW – speaks of having a personal experience with Jesus Christ…. (HIM)…

a. people need to have a spiritual experience with Jesus at salvation and after salvation
-POWER – is dynamos – which is supernatural power, strength & ability – dynamite power from the Lord…
-This power can do anything…

-Never give up on Resurrection power

(1) THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION IS A PROMISE FROM GOD – MARK 9:31 & MARK 10:32-34

-Over and over again Jesus said He would rise again

-He gave His Word and then kept it

-We can count on the Lord for anything He states in the Word of God

(a) our sins can be forgiven – 1 John 1:9

(b) Jesus breaks things – Luke 4:18-19

v18 – “To proclaim liberty to the captive”
-to break the chains of bondage
-to break the power of sin
v18 – “To set at liberty those who are oppressed”
-to break the power of demonic oppression

-only Jesus Christ can break bondages and chains

-Jesus is alive and came to break things
(2) THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION RESULTS IN THE RETURN OF THE LORD – Luke 12:54-56

-the Lord is coming back soon

-Signs to reveal that Jesus is coming back soon…….

(3) THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION BRINGS CHANGE – 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
A. COMPLETE CHANGE
-These verses speak about Israel…..

1. Israel was delivered from Egypt – refers to being born again

2. they then became brand new people –

3. Israel then went down into the sea and came back up from the sea
-this represents water baptism

4. then they received their inheritance in the promised land – who you are in Christ
***The Egyptian armies followed Israel into the Red Sea waters, but never came out the other side. At the moment of salvation, there are some enemies we will never see again…..
B. A PROCESS OF CHANGE
-some issues remain in our lives after we are saved

-they can be removed over time by the power of the resurrection

-people want to change and they can change through Jesus Christ

-change can come immediately or over time…..
