John 1:35-36

Lamb of God definition ——- means one who is gentle, kind, tender.  This is a pet lamb…
– Have the right perspective of God as a Lamb
(1) THE LAMB OF GOD IS JESUS CHRIST – Exodus 12:1-6
a.) The Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, is for every home
– The Lord wants everyone to be saved
b.) Give some Lamb to your neighbor
c.) There’s only a certain kind
 of Lamb that can be eaten – v5
– Many false lambs and religions today – Matthew 24:5, 11, 23-24
– There is only one Lamb that could be eaten:
         ***a male – Jesus was all God, but also all man
         ***a first year Lamb – the Lamb was most tender at this time to eat and tasted good
– Taste and see that the Lord is good – the character of the Lord never changes…..
         ***without blemish – no original sin or sin nature…..no acts of sin
d.) The Lamb of God must be preached -v6-7, 13,22-23
– Preach the gospel
– The blood of the Lamb saves us:
*from Pharaoh – represents the devil
*from bondage – represents sin
*from Egypt – represents the world
*from their own plans – to following the will of God
********KEEP WATER AWAY FROM THE BIBLE – v9
– DO NOT MIX IT WITH WATER
– DO NOT WATER IT DOWN
– DO NOT BOIL IT IN WATER
(2) THE POWER OF THE LAMB – John 1:29-34
– This is John the Baptist speaking
Behold – means can I get everyone’s attention please
*John was sharing that he had the solution for every problem with humanity
*THE PROBLEM IS SIN – THE SIN NATURE – NOT SINS
*THE SOLUTION IS TO SURRENDER TO JESUS
– Only Jesus, the Lamb of God, can break the power of sin
Takes Away – means to break the power of the sin nature and then give you a divine nature
        a. You do not have to sin any longer
        b.Temptation comes, but you can defeat every temptation that comes your way
        c. The power of God’s grace is stronger than the power of sin and temptation
