The Holy Spirit

                                         Luke 1:26-38

(1) THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD – Acts 5:1-5 & John 14:16

-the Holy Spirit is not a feeling or energy

-the Holy Spirit can do the impossible

-the Holy Spirit lives within you – 1 Corinthians 3:16-18

            ***The Holy Spirit lives in every believer

            ***The Holy Spirit assures people that they are saved

***Activities The Holy Spirit Is Involved In

***THE HOLY SPIRIT QUICKENS AND IGNITES US – Ephesians 2:1-5

QUICKEN – means to motivate us…urge, stir, stimulate, waken and excite us

-prayer will cause the Holy Spirit to QUICKEN people in their Christianity…

***Do not quench the Holy Spirit – 1 Thessalonians 5:19

-quench – means to extinguish or put out a fire…resistance….

   *DO NOT RESIST THE QUENCHING & IGNITING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT*

(1.) THE HOLY SPIRIT QUICKENS AND IGNITES US TO BE SAVED AND REDEEMED – Leviticus 9:22-24

-no human being can take any credit for their salvation

-the Lord started the fire on the altar for the sacrifice and burnt offering

-the Lord started our fire on the day we were saved

(2.) THE HOLY SPIRIT QUICKENS AND IGNITES US TO KEEP THE FIRE OF GOD GOING IN OUR LIVES – Leviticus 6:12-13

-every believer must become a keeper of the fire of God

-abide and do not try – practice the spiritual disciplines every day
