Jairus – vs21-24, 35-43
v21 – Jesus comes back to Jewish territory.
       – the Decapolis was a 10 city territory of gentiles
       – was battling with demons
                Two kinds of people in these two stories
(1) A Hungry Crowd
-Matthew 5:6
(2) A Resisting Crowd – Mark 5:17
-Revelation 3:20
vs22-23 –  the daughter of Jairus was dieing
Jairus – his name means Jehovah Enlightens
-he was about to be enlightened spiritually
-he was the ruler of the synagogue – watched over the building…chose who spoke
fell at the feet of Jesus Christ – a sign of respect, humility and desperation
begged – means to pleade
-Jairus was pleading for the life of his daughter
-Jairus knew if he coul dget to jesus something would happen
v24 – Right away Jesus leaves to go with Jairus
-Jesus was almost suffocating because of the tightness of the crowd around Him
-the progress of Jesus was slowed down
***JESUS IS ALWAYS ON TIME***
Remember: Gods delays are not His denials……..
v35 – do not bother Jesus any longer – they had given up – Jairus’ daughter was dead
REMEMBER:  Jesus can bring dead things back to life
v36 – Are you going to walk in fear or faith?
Jesus did not pay attention to their conversation
-do not pay attention to any conversation that goes against jesus & His Word
Only Believe – means to keep on believing
-this is a command from jesus
-this means to to place your complete trust and confidence on a person or thing
      ***you can believe a lie or the truth
Jairus’ faith was starting to waver – James 1:6-8 & Galatians 6:9
Believe in jesus because He can do anything – remember His Sovereignty
v37 – only 3 people followed Jesus
-Gather around yuo faith people
v38 – Jesus beheld – means to observe…examine critically
-Jesus saw crying, noise, flutes playing, screaming
-He really saw unbelief…doubt and a lack of faith
v39 -Jesus threw out all unbelief.  He confronted the fake mourners..
v40  – REACTION TO JESUS
-they laughed at Jesus and put Him down
-Jesus put them all out of the room – this speaks of forceful pressure and ejection
-Jesus did this to create an environment where a miracle could take place…
v41 – took – means to take with Him
Jesus is in charge of this situation.  He is in control…
-took the child by the hand – speaks of having a strong grip
v42 – the authority of Jesus made this girl walk
v43 – don’t share because it could cause the ministry of Jesus to stop and be hindered…
