Pentecost Acts 2

 

  1. DAY OF PENTECOST:  Leviticus 23 prophetic holidays, Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles, Jesus was executed on Passover, was laid in the tomb on Unleavened Bread, He rose again on First Fruits, 40 days after Passover Jesus ascended, 50 days after Passover the Holy Spirit descended in Acts 2 on Pentecost.  Three of these prophetic events have yet to be fulfilled

 

  1. When the Day of Pentecost had FULLY COME = come to pass, fulfilled, speaks the Lord’s promise being fulfilled in His perfect timing
  2. John 14:26But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you
  3. 2nd Corinthians 1:20For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us
  4. His timing is perfect don’t get ahead and try to MAKE IT HAPPEN
  5. Thousands of people were flooding in the Jerusalem for a divine appointment a divine time

 

  1. The Upper Room 1:13-15
  2. They were all with ONE ACCORDof the same heart mind and purpose they were in agreement unified and one together
  3. They were in the same upper room where the last supper took place and post resurrection appearances of Jesus happened
  4. The 12 disciples and the Mother of Jesus Mary were there 120 total 1:13
  5. This was a corporate prayer meeting
  6. Prayer can open heaven

 

  1. And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven
  2. Your life can change suddenly
  3. Marriage can change suddenly, Finances can change suddenly, You can be healed suddenly your attitude can change suddenly

 

  1. 2:2 A sound FROM HEAVEN like a mighty rushing wind and it filled the house
  2. Heaven opened and touched earth
  3. This was a corporate baptism for the entire body of Christ

 

  1. 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them
  2. This was also an individual baptism as tongues of fire sat upon each one
  3. Exodus 3:2 Moses saw the burning bush, 1 Kings 18:38Fire came down from heaven and consumed Elijah’s offering, 2 Chronicles 7:1 Fire came down and consumed Solomon’s offering
  4. They all started speaking in tongues
  5. A change in administration in OT the Holy Spirit empowered certain people for a specific task since Pentecost all believers can be filled with the Holy Spirit

 

  1. 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven
  2. Who can be saved? 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance
  3. All can be saved this was a cross cultural outreach as each heard the gospel in their own native language
